Compañía de las Islas Occidentales (CIO) has received the Seal for Corporate Social Responsibility from the Council of Tenerife

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, January 2017.- Compañía de las Islas Occidentales (CIO) (www.grupo-cio.com/) has been  awarded the “Social Seal in CSR 2016” by the Council of Tenerife, award that was presented this morning to Monica Rumeu, Director of Corporate Responsibility of CIO, by Carlos Alonso President of the Council, during an event held in the Salón Noble of the Tenerife institution.

This seal, which has a duration of three years, and is renewable, recognizes the journey and performance of the participating companies in the area of social responsibility and values the initiatives carried out by CIO, which are embedded in its business strategy and are aimed at developing projects that improve the wellbeing of the community with both an internal and external impact.

CIO got an overall score of 74 over 100 in the parameters valued by the jury, obtaining the second place amongst the seven participating companies and exceeding the minimum of 40 points required to obtain the seal and receive the economic compensation that accompanies this award which amounts to €2,857.14 and will be invested by the Company in projects of a social nature.

In the words of Mónica Rumeu, “CIO is very proud to be able to accept an award of these characteristics, it is a recognition of our effort and motivates us to continue to work in this area”.

“This award is result of the enormous involvement of our employees with the corporate responsibility actions carried out by the Company, without a doubt without them this journey would not be possible”, adds Rumeu.
